John and Lynda Burnside came to horses late in life.  After many years in the medical professions they started raising and breeding horses about 12 years ago and find that it is a thrilling new venue rather than a rocking chair retirement.  In 2000, John retired as Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.  Lynda who had been a full time nurse for many years also retired.  They are now engaged in the horse business with enthusiasm although both keep active in medicine.  Lynda as a part time psychiatric nurse at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and John as a part time physician in various areas of Texas to help out colleagues in need and to keep current.  They have three sons, two grandsons and two very special granddaughters.  They both enjoy the company of other horsepeople and animal lovers and cordially invite you to visit,  hunker down and poke sticks in the fire.
